Name: Alison Pritchett

How long have you been training with Paramount Fitness?
I started training with Paramount Fitness in September 2011.

What Programme are you signed up to?
I have recently started Small group personal training, prior to that I had been doing boot camp.

Before starting with Paramount Fitness, describe your state of health, fitness and general well-being.
I was not in the best of health or fitness, was thoroughly fed up with myself and decided I needed to take action now!!

What was the pivotal point which made you get in contact with Paramount Fitness?
I had been ski-ing and really did not enjoy it as I normally did, this was down to the fact that I could not fully participate in the sport as I normally used to, because I just was not fit enough. I finally woke up to that fact that it was down to me to do something about it. I needed to take action to get the results I wanted; become fitter, leaner and more energetic.

What were your goals back then?
I wanted to get fitter and also to lose weight to get back to where I had been before. I had lost weight before with Slimming World. I had been featured in their magazine with a photo shoot on the ski slopes, they did not jet me off anywhere exotic, it was at Tamworth Snow Dome. Unfortunately the weight loss did not last, I put the weight back on and more!

How did you feel after your first training session?
When I attended my first session I looked around and thought there doesn’t seem to be much equipment here (thinking of gyms), i’m not sure how effective it will be, the old adage of don’t judge a book by its cover rang true, when I left the session I certainly knew I had done it! And two years later I am still going.

What have you achieved to date?
I have lost weight (I have gone down several clothes sizes) toned up and changed my whole way of eating. This is down to the dietary and lifestyle information that the great team at Paramount Fitness have given me. Adhering to this change in diet in conjunction with the exercise seems to have been the pivotal factor for me, I have kept the weight off I have lost; I have more energy and I overall feel much healthier.

What emotional boundaries have you had to overcome, which have been tough, but you knew you had to, to get the results you wanted?
Sometimes you feel cannot go on but the overall ambience within Paramount Fitness allows everyone to feel comfortable, I was not made to feel any less than any of the others because initially I could not complete some of the exercises properly, they adapt the exercises to suit your abilities.

Why were achieving the above results so important to you?
I am not getting any younger and I thought if I don’t take a grip of myself now it will soon to be too hard for me to do anything too challenging, I wanted to keep on with my ski-ing and I realised if I did not take a grip of myself I may as well kiss that activity goodbye!

What are the best things about training with Paramount Fitness?
The team, the support, you can ask questions about any part of your training or your nutrition and they will answer it for you. There are also useful nuggets of information about all aspects of training and nutrition entered on to the Private Online Members Forum, which is also used as a question and answer area. There is also a good camaraderie about the place, the additional activities and support that are made available (sports days, links to useful information and nutrition seminars among them) in conjunction with the lively banter on Facebook all help to support this.

What are your goals now, moving forward?
I am going to continue on with my journey, I want to get fitter, leaner and hopefully maintain my energy levels. I still have lots of things that I want to do before I die (not listed, as not all for public viewing) so hopefully building on my progress so far will allow me to do this.

If you could sum up your experience of training with Paramount Fitness to date in under 50 words, what would you say?
Paramount Fitness is a great place to train, you are not just treated as a number, they really care about your results and if you put the commitment and effort in yourself they will do their utmost to help you achieve your desires.
